Qualification Standards
In addition to qualifications, we assess experience, communication skills, professional conduct and suitability for the care environment.
Minimum Level 3 Qualification or Above
Healthcare Assistants must hold at least one of the following:
- New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3)
- New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4)
- A relevant higher level healthcare qualification
- An equivalent qualification recognised as appropriate following assessment
Healthcare Assistance Duties
Depending on the care setting, client requirements and appropriate supervision, Healthcare Assistants may assist with:
